We are officially an active waiting family!

Exciting news! We are officially an active waiting family with Mustard Seed Adoption Consultants. We received our profile book (PDF) on March 11th. We sent it to our consultants along with our home study and are now able to look through and pray over different cases. How it works is the consultants send us different expectant mothers who are considering adoption for their child. We are able to read through their profile essentially and decide if we would like to present our family to her. She would then look through the different books and letters of the families and potentially choose someone to parent her child. As we read through, think about, and pray over these cases we are asking for your prayers. Prayers that God would turn our hearts towards the expectant mom and child he has for us. That he would cover us in peace, cover the expectant mom in love, and protect the child. We also need prayer and financial support. We are extremely overwhelmed with the cost of the cases we have seen. While we have been so blessed and humbled by the amount of money we have received from friends and family, we are having to trust big time that God is going to provide the rest. As of right now we have raised about 15k in financial support. The average cost of the cases we have seen is about 35k. We have already spent around 6k for the adoption process (home study, profile book, consulting fee, background checks, paperwork, etc.). Therefore, we have around 9k in our adoption fund. Looking at a number of 35k or more with only 9k in our adoption fund definitely gives us a large amount of anxiety. We are hopeful that we can continue to receive donations and support from friends and family, and are trying our best to have peace and trust that God’s plan will prevail.

To raise awareness for our adoption we have decided to create a few apparel choices. We chose a heart because we believe that God has put adoption on our hearts and given us the desire to do so at this time in our lives. We chose the saying “Family is more than blood,” simply because it is. We are adopted in to Christs family, therefore we all are brothers and sisters in Christ. We do not all share the same DNA, so we felt the saying that family is more than blood could not be more accurate. The Bible verse is 1 Samuel 1:27 “For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition that I made to him.” We chose this verse because, we have indeed prayed for this child long before we started the adoption process. Adoption has always been something we felt called to, even while dating. We feel that God led us to adoption at this specific time for a particular child that He has chosen for us, and we have been praying for this little one before we even knew when God would put the time on our hearts. We would love to have your support in wearing these shirts/ sweatshirts. If you feel called to do so, or just want some cool new shirts to wear please visit our fundraising campaign @

Thank you for your continued prayers and support!

Love,

The Braggs
